About Us

Our mission is to provide personal and environmental health services which emphasize health promotion and the prevention of illness and disease.  Sangamon County is the 10th largest Health Department in Illinois with an annual budget of $8.4 million which serves a population of over 200,000.  Sangamon County is home to the Capitol, State Fair, Abraham Lincoln sites and the 183rd Air National Guard Unit.
