If your alcohol-based hand sanitizer is on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s “Testing and Manufacturer’s Recalls” list, stop using it immediately and dispose of it in an appropriate hazardous waste container. Do not flush or pour it down the drain. Many of these products have insufficient levels of alcohol or may have dangerous ingredients, such as methanol.
